Segment V – As a guideline, Biofuels, Vehicle Safety, and Alternative Propulsion to Combustion have the electrification of the vehicle powertrain for high energy efficiency, the use of biofuels for energy generation, and the adaptation of the Brazilian context of supply infrastructure.
Based on the alliance between the main participants that represent the knowledge of the sector (companies, representative entities, and Science and Technology Institutions – STIs), the necessary skills will be enabled to train the automotive chain.

Focus of Operation
Alternative Propulsion to Combustion
Development of new technologies, mainly systems and components (parts) aimed at electric, hybrid vehicles, and the fuel cell considering the vehicle dynamics, energy efficiency, and driveability in Brazilian territories.
Biofuels
Development and application of technologies, engines, and components linked to biofuels so that the entire supply chain of the automotive sector can obtain and enjoy solutions for its progress. Such technologies allow the application of biofuels to be increasingly disseminated in the market.
Vehicle Safety
Development of technologies to preserve the physical integrity of car occupants and increase vehicle safety and efficiency. These technologies must improve and integrate the passive and active security systems, monitoring, communication, performance, and control of the current vehicles.
